There has been some recent confusion and misinformation concerning the Association’s policy on the preferred vendor for trash collection. Waste Management has been the Association’s preferred vendor, since the late 1990’s. A single vendor was selected to reduce the number pickup days and their heavy trucks rolling on our streets. A policy has been written and approved by the Board of Directors to clarify this subject.
The membership also decided to keep any contract for services between Waste Management and the homeowner; this allows for greater flexibility of services to the homeowner, without increasing Association dues to cover trash collection, and having members pay for services they were not using. The monthly rate for one (1) trash and one (1) recycle pickup is $12.25 + taxes and fees, ($15.45).
A 15 MPH speed limit sign has been posted within the community.
Everyone is urged to slow-down for safety sake.

This monsoon season has produced a bumper-crop of weeds. Before you get a letter from the Association, and no one likes those, please check your lawn for those offending plants and remove them. Many herbicides only need a few hours without rain to be effective in eliminating weeds.
Nuisances
Noise issues, including those of pets, especially when neighbors can’t resolve the issue, are best handled with the Oro Valley Police Department. This issue and the proper steps to follow to resolve it, was discussed in an earlier Association Newsletter. While the Association has the power to fine an offending homeowner for nuisance violations, the actions taken by the Town of Oro Valley carry more weight. Of course as always, it’s better for neighbors to resolve these issues between themselves as amicably as possible.
A reminder from our neighbor the Golf Course…
Please be aware if you trim trees or plants in your yard or on Association Common property, you are responsible for removing the debris. If you wish to trim trees or plants on golf course property you need permission from the golf course before your proceed. Questions regarding this matter, please contact El Conquistador at 520-544-1900.
Yep, you read it right, Spring. Now is the time to get our yards in shape for the warmer weather ahead. With the winter rains behind us, now is a good time to get a handle on those weeds, cut back those freeze-damaged branches.
Also remember to check your irrigation systems for leaks. Its better for your plants and your pocketbook.
The Board is considering posting a 15 MPH speed limit on our streets. It has been generally accepted that the unposted 25 MPH limit is too fast to travel safely through the neighborhood.
Additionally, the Board is checking with the Oro Valley Police Department to see whether they will enforce the lower, posted, limit on our streets.
